FAQs
We have tried to anticipate the most frequent queries but please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss the individual issues relevant to you and your family and how we may best support you with these.
Do I need a referral?
- No, unless you have private insurance where it may be required. Please check your policy.
Do I need to make a long-term commitment?
- No. However, you should be aware that one session on an infrequent basis will not be sufficient to rehabilitate severe and persistent neurological disorders. Some clients will be happy to pursue long term therapy; for others, it is entirely possible that a short course of sessions will be sufficient; others may seek to taper sessions down over time, or have periodic single refresher sessions/courses. It is your decision.
What about private health insurance?
- Physiotherapy will usually be covered but is limited under most policies. We require payment from you and you will be responsible for recovering the cost from your insurer. An invoice may be provided where necessary.
How much will it cost?
- Fees are charged on an hourly basis, or part thereof and set at current market rates. Sessions are normally one hour long and held at the clinic. For school age children, some LEA’s will finance physiotherapy – we can advise you in pursuing this option. We do not undertake domicillary work as a rule. Full fees are charged for sessions cancelled within twenty four hours prior to the appointment time. Please call or email for more details.
Is there parking and wheelchair accessibility?
- Yes but please call if you have special requirements.
What is the difference between a neuro-physiotherapist and a musculo-skeletal one?
- We treat only conditions arising from neurological disorders. A musculo-skeletal physiotherapist deals with orthopedics – backs, broken bones, sprains, strains – and sports injuries.
What are Bobath/Peto/Carr/Shiatsu?
- They are differing approaches in undertaking and managing physical therapy. Firther information may be found within Farshideh's About Us details.
